Blockhouse #1 be close, look up

A series of blockhouses was built in Manhattan’s Morningside Heights in preparation for a British invasion during the War of 1812. Fortunately, they never attacked. Today, only one (Blockhouse #1 in Central Park) stands. Here are photos of the ol’ fort.

Since its opening in 1911, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine slowly developed, but the fact it remains unfinished since construction began in 1892 adds charm to this place. Scroll through the photos taken of this place and embrace its beauty.
